What do I need from my doctor to make a PT appointment?

Nothing. Simply call us at 405-831-7468 or send us an email from our contact page! In Oklahoma, Physical Therapists can practice under "Direct Access," meaning patients can come straight to our door without a physician referral and without a prescription. We will evaluate you and communicate with your MD on our findings to give you the best care possible. Our goal is to decrease your pain so you can get back to moving pain free!

FAQ's

What should I wear to a physical therapy appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose fitting cloths, athletic shoes, and tie up long hair! Comfortable, loose fitting clothes (including bra and underwear) are important so the therapist can correctly assess your movement. Make sure your clothing doesn't impede your movement. Gym attire is great!

What should I expect in my first physical therapy appointment?

After discussing your condition, your PT will perform an examination. Your PT will focus on measuring impairments that may be causing your problem or that may be affected by your injury. Common measurements taken during a physical therapy examination include:

  • Palpation
  • Range of motion (ROM) measurements
  • Strength
  • Mobility
  • Balance
  • Neurological screening tests
